Photographer’s Note
“Sailboat entering the harbor” is the name of this photo taken a few days ago at the harbor entrance. If you know St. John’s, the small community of the Battery is in the background. This boat appeared full and the fall colors are everywhere.
There may be too many colors in this photo and I was tempted to have black and white everywhere except the sailboat. Maybe it would increase the affect of the colorful sailboat?

Hi Jim,
I like the shot just the way it is. For me the boat just makes for an interesting foreground while the real beauty of the image is the water, the houses, and the cliff face. I don't see an over concentration of different colours, yes it is a busy shot but its a busy scene with lots of interesting detail to explore. What I do see in the image is an interesting POV and very nice composition. The low light looks wonderful, the sparkle on the side of the boat and the light and shade over the background makes for a very pretty capture.
Regards
Peter
