Cygnets are the name of this photograph. It was taken this evening after supper using my telephoto optical and digital lens (10 xs). He is the proud dad (Cob) taking his offspring for their first swim. Some basic information includes the following:
The female swan is called a PEN. The male swan is called a COB. The baby swans are CYGNETS. A cob will be slightly larger than a pen, and his bill will be a brighter orange and the knob at the base of the bill will be larger. A group of swans is called a HERD. Swans can live to an age of 40 and can weigh up to 30 pounds.
I am going to make a large copy of this photograph and place it on the wall of my home in a nice frame.
This photograph was cropped, Sharpened in lab color U. S. M. 80,2,1, Level adjusted, And saved for the web.

How can I resist such a sweet photo... :)
Sometimes all we have to do is to simply freeze a moment in nature, and a great photo comes out! Beautiful colors and great textures. I would crop a little from the top, but it's also great (and will probably look great on your wall!) as is.
