Photographer's Note

I came across this plaque in a church in Harbor Main and decided to take a photograph since my friend who was driving me is Irish. After a Google search, I came across these facts: it is amazing to learn some interesting facts on the web. This photograph was cropped and saved for the web.

Rev. John Roe...served from 1891-1905
Yet another priest from Ireland. Fr. Roe was baptized on Oct 4, 1854 in
Ballygory, Mooncoin, County Kilkenny, Ireland, son of Thomas Roe and
Anastasia Hennebury. Fr. Roe came to Nfld to visit his uncle Rev. Thomas
Hennebury of Trepassy and was persuaded to remain. He died on June 16,
1911 in Avondale where he was still the serving priest. An interesting
Note...the church he served in was destroyed the next day after his death
By lightening.
