Photographer’s Note

This is the Saint John River that runs through the Saint John River Valley in the western part of New Brunswick. The colours were quite spectacular and not something we get out west. I have tried to find out the name of this bridge but alas I have not been able to identify it. If anyone knows please let me know.

Wonderful autumn image with the mirror-like reflections. The result is a very graphic image. I would be tempted to crop the water to make it a letter-box format and make more of the symmetry. Maybe you think that is soo clichéd?

The way you framed those unique reflections adds a great enigmatic touch to the picture. The lower "blank" third seems almost detached from the rest of the view... I love that!!! Brilliant thinking, TFS! Have a great weekend, I'll be seeing you.

Hi Phil,

Wonderful reflection and a very interesting and unique composition. I think I'd have been tempted to crop the lower part, like Kath suggested, but that would probably make it less dynamic.
Anyway, I think I can help you out on the location. I'm pretty sure it's the "other" Hartland Bridge - not the famous covered one but the other one that crosses the river a bit upstream. It's been some years since I've been there though...
