Oval Plaza, Jerash
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the Oval Plaza (forum), 90m long and 80m wide, located in the centre of the ancient Roman city of Jerash. In the middle of the forum stands a lone column, which you can see in my previous post. The forum, which in the Roman times used to be a market and a meeting place, is surrounded by a row of 56 columns, some of which you can see in this picture.
Nowadays Jerash is in northern Jordan. It can be visited on an interesting day trip from capital city Amman. The ruins are well preserved, and at the time I was there it wasn't too crowded, co you could have some privete expereince with this great example of the glorious Roman past.
Have a look at the workshop for a slightly different view! |

Michal, awesome, simply awesome. I have not seen these ruins but as with all these still identifiable after 200 years it gives me a feeling of gratitude; thankfulness that I saw with my own eyes. Your shot is great in detail and color, great capture and well composed.

Michal,
Excellent placement of the columns, Great sharpness from the first column to the last. Would have been nice to see some shadows of these column which may give it some depth. It looks a little bit flat. Color and light are very nicely handled, just enough contrast and saturation and clarity. Good POV.
Thanks for sharing.
