Back to the most classic view of Istanbul.
One evening deniz went with me to make some blue hour shots near Eminonu. The weather was good, full moon spectacular but the results were very poor. I tried to adjust my tripod, to use walls as support, but nothing helped. It must have been fun to Deniz to observe my efforts:). It was also fun to other people, some came to see what I was doing. Deniz gave me many good advices, so the next evening I went alone in the night with my tripod again, this time to Sultanahmet.
The moon was still beautiful and I liked my shots better.
I felt safe in Istanbul, even if sometimes I went alone in the evening. Luckily I haven't read this before:
Worldwide coverage of several high-profile violent incidents this year has pushed the topic of solo female travel into the forefront of public dialogue.
In January, New York City mother Sarai Sierra was killed while travelling independently in Istanbul, her body found near the city’s ancient walls in early February. In March, a Norwegian woman who reported being raped while on business in Dubai was charged with having extramarital sex, perjury and drinking alcohol, and sentenced to 16 months in jail.
Reports of sexual assault and even gang rape have been recorded across India, including a British tourist jumping off her balcony in Agra in March to escape potential assault from a hotel owner.
I like also the view

Excellent night photo with superb lighting. The mosque is excellently captured church from very well selected viewpoint. The view from lover angle makes the mosque majestic and dominant. The light is perfect, the contrast against black sky superb.

Great night time capture of this impressive and beautiful mosque. I like the symmetrical framing and the warm tones. The low viewpoint emphasises the majesty of the architecture. I shouldn't let a few newspaper reports put you off travelling. In the world we live in today these sort of incidents can just as well take place in your home town, unfortunate as that may seem. You just need to be careful and avoid taking unnecessary risks, otherwise life becomes not worth living.

super night shot this. Love the upwards POV and the bright spot of the moon, seeming to cast its light onto the magnificent architectural elegance below. Excellent clarity and a beautifully presented image. Like it a lot!
Regards - B.

Very nice nocturnal capture of Sultanahmet's inner court.
Good pov and perfect light management.
The full moon is of course the bonus of this perfect capture.

A very fine collection of pictures, taken in the darkness with this interesting mosque well illuminated. This symmetric view provides a good pattern with all the different parts on top of each other.

both this and the workshop, and the attached photos - all beautifully presented the known location in Istanbul.
Light under the archs and above the upper decks are well collected, and gave the sight its grandeur.
A marvelous night shot, good clarity and immaculate details shown.

Dramatic framing and lighting. Good, tight composition, and of course the moon tops it all off. Good work!

Ksiezyc dodaj ciekawego punktu odniesienia aczkolwiek tutaj pokusilbym sie o wykasowanie go I wklejenie falszywego ksiezyca w fotoszopie.

Fantastic scene with crispnesswhich is possible only with a tripod I guess :-)
I almost know from where you took this picture...just below the arched entrance. Fine light which you captured
Indeed what you write in your note is a disturbing fact...the crime against women is growing by the day & sadly in my own country..
