Sea Lily (Pancratium maritimum)
A quite unique plant of sand beaches in the Mediterranean shores of Turkey. Unfortunately an endangered species.
In spring, enormous, frilly, very fragrant, rather daffodil-like flowers open over attractive, flat, blue-grey leaves. Found in the wild mainly growing in sand on Mediterranean beaches, these plants will survive in a sheltered, well-drained spot in a UK garden, but are better enjoyed in large pot. In Catalan, the flower is called Assutzena darenal, Lliri darenal or Lliri de mar, whilst in Spanish it is called Azucena marina, Nardo marino or Amor mío. This gorgeous flower is classed as endangered, and as thus, is protected and must not be picked in the wild.
Kum zambağı (Pancratium maritimum), nergisgiller (Amaryllidaceae) familyasına ait, kıyı kumullarında yetişen soğanlı bir bitki türü.
Çok yıllık, soğanlı, genişçe uzun şeritsi yapraklı, yaklaşık 40-45 cm boyunda, beyaz çiçekli, çiçek sayısı 3-15, koronalı, korona tepallerin 2 / 3 ü kadardır. Çiçeklenme zamanı Ağustos ve Ekim ayları arasındadır.
Tüm Akdeniz ülkelerinde ve Karadenizin güney kıyılarında yetişir. Türün nesli tehlike altındadır. Türkiye'de bulunan zambakların ülke dışına çıkarılması suçtur. Türe yönelik en önemli tehdit, kıyı bölgelerinde hızla yayılan yazlık konutlardır.

A very delicate flower, and amazing that this grows on a beach! I have never heard of the species before, so fascinated by your capture and note. Its a very minimalist shot, and the tones of the flower against the sand look wonderful.
All the best

Beauty can be found in a small corner or like here in the sand of a beach.
Never in my life I've seen such flowers growing somewhere on a beach. Will the salt water never hit their roots?
The beautiful white flowers stand out well against the quite dark sand.
Best regards, Paul

This is truly lovely. The white flower is very sharp and beautifully presented against the pin-sharp grains of sand. The shadow areas in the sand add texture and is a lovely BG.
Kind Regards, ann
