Photographer’s Note
I have shot this orthodoxal jews near a Western Wall in Old Jerusalem. I do not know, how the weapon and a prayer is combined. Probably, that is an indicator of level of danger in this city.

Hello Serghei,
What a world, praying with a weapen between the belt.
Also the look of the the man in background make the photograph more a reporting picture for a newspaper.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John

Hi Serghei - very nice photo! You really evaluated the scene well. The gun is the subject of the photo, and everything else compliments it. It's not so clear that these people are praying by looking at the photo. Your note explains it well, though. Good work!

Hi Serghei,
Really interesting shot! You're right, the simultaneous prayer and pistol is hard to understand. I wonder if we should interpret it as saying something about the city? Or does it say something about the person praying? The other figure seems to be looking at the camera kind of suspiciously - adds nicely to the photo.
Cheers!

Hi Serghei,
interesting capture (though it seems the photo was taken from afar)!
I can't comprehend this peculiar situation in Israel, but it's not me who would judge about it.
Good capture, food for thought.
Quality-wise - could be better, but the meaning of the photo outweighs :)
Wishing you a nice day!

Privet, Seghei -
Well, the quality could be better, as others have said, but as a journalistic photo it's excellent. I was just in Israel last week, and the number of people carrying weapons was one of the main things that caught my eye - though I was not so bold as to take photos of them! I also remember being asked, as I was going through security at the Jerusalem train station, whether I was carrying a weapon (meshek); it was a standard question!
There are guards all over the place; many restaurants add a 2-shekel charge (about $0.45 US) to the bill to cover security costs. At the malls, guards search people's handbags going in, for bombs and weapons, whereas in other countries they search bags going out, for shoplifting. Not a pleasant way to live, but people do manage to cope.
Best,
Dan

Maybe becouse he is not a prayer and he is only a regular man, a man that hates, a man that is ready to kill... he is no so much different than other men.
Pictures is great, is realistic, it is a document of this century. Congratulations.
best regards.
