[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My contribution for the International Children's Day.

And a quote from "The Prophet" of Khalil Gibran:

" Your Children are not Your Children

They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. "

Bonsoir Marine
bravo ! très belle contribution à cette journée internationale de l'enfance. Le n&b est superbe et le visage ressort magnifiquement. Chapeau bas !
Xavier

Hi, Marine. I like the composition a lot. I do think the focus is a maybe a little soft on her face, and maybe the expression you've captured is a bit "in between." (Difficult art, this portraiture.) But none of that detracts from the strong symbolism of the post. "Their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit . . . " works beautifully with the image. Best, -Hugh

Hello Marine. The photo wakes memories of my Yemen journey before 10 years. Your photo pleases me very well. It is sometimes difficult to photograph women or girls. The Portrait study is exemplary. As b& w version works the photo outstanding. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Salut Marine,

Hi Marine,

Let's keep apart all the technical dramas and look at the image..
I like the composition, with the kid, and especially the looks , straight at the world.
Well chosen B/W. Now, for the title SILENCE... It plays a role too, for the concept.. with a sensible thought in every kids at the world, for what their future will be ..
Do we all see the future of the kids?
We have too..
Excellent presentation.
All the best.

Marine: some soft edges here - perhaps intentional - nice choice for BW and DOF is great. regards, c
