Photographer’s Note
This is another shot from the palace hotel that I showed in my previous posting here. I loved the windows and the lack of symmetry. I know that it is a bit skewed in the top right. But I like the different lines in this shot (including the diagonal shadows being made from the morning sun).
This hotel really did impress me, yet nobody seems to visit it, nor even really seem to know about it. I had seen a photo of it previously, and I had to ask about 15 people in Sana'a where it actually was in Yemen. Luckily I finally found a helpful man who told me it was in Hadramawt (which luckily I was heading to anyways).

hmmm...i guess this is a better shot than the first one you posted. the colors here are more of a standout and there is a concentrated theme despite the variety of colors.

Hi David,
This is a wonderful looking hotel and it's a pity that the rooms were too expensive for you to stay there. Your previous shot showed a global view of the place, but this one is much artistic. The saturated colors are great, but I think that the graphical impact would have been even better if you had corrected the distortion, so I just tried a WS for fun...
Have a nice day.

Ces façades colorées, magnifiquement éclairées, sont superbes. Brigitte m'a devancé dans la réalisation du WS pour redresser les lignes (celà donne un aspect encore plus graphique à l'image, à mon avis...)

Hi David
I did not see this hotel when I was in Yemen a couple of years ago. Well composed - the blocks of colour are lovely and I like the way you have got the shadows of the waterspouts running diagonally over the surface.

A superbly composed patchwork quilt of beautiful pastel colours. The strong sidelighting has caused the shadows from the water overflow pipes to give this some depth.Very colourful and striking shot. Kind regards, Paul.

Beautiful colors. Horizon needs to be tilted as it is not straight. If you see the horizontal line at the top you will see what I mean.
Thanks for sharing

Beautiful capture on many levels. Nice geometric pattern, brilliant colours well saturated. Good cultural details. Just one quibble: IMO the heavy frame emphasizes the unparallel lines. You don't need it.

Hi David,
Fantastic architecture and great colors! Both pictures of this original building are very nice, but I like a lot this zoom on the details. The light was excellent and created noce graphic shadow that complete the composition. Bravo!

Flavia

Hi David,
it is a lovely view of an atypical architecture. Wonderful colours and the diverse placement of the windows of all different size is amusing.
Best regards
Romana
