Kids playing on a field right in front of Sibam:
Shibam is anarchitectural marvel. The day we were there there was a lot of activity in these fields: kids playing, some religious gathering, old men chatting.

Soccer is big in Yemen and wherever there is an empty space, kids occupy it to play. Some of them may dream of future glories.

Daniel: didn't get a chance the other day so comment on this fine image. I think it has alot of Alex Webb in there, and perhaps it's just the fact that it's a 'low-key' image (dark hues) that makes people skip over the thumbnail. Hey Daniel, I remember this spot exactly, and walked around this area with the sun setting. The kids were awesome around here and had tons of energy. I'm sure you drew alot of attention. Great shot including the soccer posts, and the silhouettes with the fading sun.
