[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another post that I took from the small picturesque town of Jibla near Ibb.
As I mentioned in a previous post here Jibla has a fascinating market in the morning. The narrow streets make for great photo opportunities, and it is bustling early. It also provides for interesting angles and lighting, so I liked the diagonal beam of light that was on this little stoop.

I noticed this man sitting drinking his coffee or tea early in the morning, and it reminded me of a cat finding a sun spot to relax in. He seems quite deep in thought, maybe about the day ahead, or maybe he simply hasn't a care in the world.

Hi david. I like this little vignette of everyday life.Your notes explain the mood and the effects of light and shadows very well. It just remains for me to say, well done. regards. Klaudio.

You must have been very discreet to get it without your subject noticing you ... the result is excellent! Well composed, lots of detail (I really like the sign above the man's head) and exquisite use of light & shadow to create a very captivating image.

Hi David

Great light you have found here. Good vertical comp. Very sharp with nice color and detail. I would like to visit Yemen soon. Anyhow well done.

Hello David. A beautiful snapshot from the Yemen, which I visited before 10 years. The balance between light and shade succeeded very well. Worth seeing. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Good portrayal here, David. You show the moment in the sun clearly and well. The shadows offer excellent contrast and context, I like the other man in the background for perspective. The walls offer texture and colors; the sign establishes the local color effectively, and that little triangle of blue sky at top is a nice touch.

Hi David!
nice to see these men coing out of the shadow! A good way of composing a picture with light.
Shadow is a little too dark in my opinion, I'd prefer to see something better there!
Veru nice to see architecture works far away

Bravo!

Hello David,
I like how you have captured the man and his coffe,
the light and details are excellent on him.
WHile I do like the way you have captured him in his environment, I find that there are too many areas on the photo which are under the shadows. I think that a closeup showing just him and the man behind would look good.
Regards
Daniel

hi David,
a nice daily life, with a great game between lightand shadow.

Hi David,
here too, I love the way you depict the interesting city of Jibla, playing skillfully with the light. The thought occurs to me that the builders at the time had exactly that in mind too: playing with the light or better playing with the shadows. The guy is good! What does the announcement behind his back (with the white hand) mean?
Best regards
Dietrich

Ha. This is good David, he really found a good place for his morning coffee.
You did well with the light here, even the dark shadows are fairly detailed and the colors are very good.

Excellent eye David. You really have to have a good sense of light and photography to have visualized this photo. The composition is perfect with the diagonal section of light leading us to the man sitting on the stairs drinking his coffee. The exposure is handled very well. Nice work.

Ryan
