[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Suq al-Milh, the central market place of Sanaa old city. The market starts immediately inside the Bab al-Yaman, Yemen gate, and stretches along the streets for several blocks. It is a very lively area and a perfect place to watch people, the intense commerce and the astonishing architecture that has made the UNESCO classify old Sanaa as a world heritage.

Hej Gert,
Some really original architecture here and quite interesting image of the daily life here. The men seem to be well dressed in jackets, was it cold or? It would be interesting to see exactly the place where your photos are taken, donīt you have access to GoogleEarth? Then itīs easy to include the coordinates.

Hi Gert,

nice POV starting from the dayly life scene to the architechture above.
Colours are good and warmth althouhg it is a scan
well done
Silvio

Hello, Gert -

I think this is a bit oversaturated, probably the result of the scanning process. (I'd be interested to know more about your experiences with it, as I am thinking about doing the same with my slides.)

I like the diagonals - including the slant of the street, which gives a kind of precariousness. Also the buildings towering above add to the feel of a timeless market.

Regards,
Dan

Olá Gert, fascinating architecture against the blue sky, well combined with a busy foreground that shows us the allways interessant and attractive life of markets. Good exotic recovery from 1998.

ricardo
