[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Traditional houses in the Yemeni highlands are made of mud-bricks and stone, generally in four to six storeys. Each floor serves its own purpose, with the ground floor being reserved for animals and storage of goods, the others for living rooms, kitchen, bed rooms etc. The women of the household usually have one floor of their own. The top floor, mafraj, is the most important. That's where the owner and his guests spend the afternoons chewing qat.
This house is in a village not far from Sanaa, the capital city.

Hello Gert,
a typical house in Yemen, but very unusual and interesting for us in Europe, well captured and composed,
I find your note very informative,
well done!
Dimitris.

Hej Gert,
A very fine capture of an interesting building. What is the age of such a house? Is it cactus in the FG? Whatever it is, it frames the house in a very good way and covering one third of the picture.
Hälsningar
Gunnar

Hej Gert,
