[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is from Mukalla in former South Yemen, on the Arabian Sea. The heat was oppressive when I was there, most likely at least 45 degrees Celsius. This picture was taken in the afternoon when the shades were growing long and the temperature was getting more reasonable, that is around 40.
Mukalla is a very old city with a lot of narrow alleys and small mosques, but the view of the sea was partly destroyed in the 1980's with the construction of a stone wall to protect the city from storms.
This is a scan of a Kodachrome slide. My camera was a Canon F-1.

Hej Gert,
I´m glad to see that you finally got your scanner...

This photo is very good, strong colours and the stone wall in the foreground is placed at exactly one third from the left margin. Is it a goat on the wall?
Regards
Gunnar

Hej Gert!
In the very early 70's when I was a kid there was a TV-serie on Swedish television "röda Havets Hemlighet" I'v tryed to find on IMDB to find the english title without success, The only thing I rememberd was that it was in color and incredible exciting.
The goats in foreground give's a nice flavor to the city and the low light sets the fond in a nice way. Is it a castle on the ridge?
HA nu en skön fredag!
