| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A few days ago I posted a picture of Bab al-Yaman, Yemen gate, the main entrance to the old town of Sanaa. That was a close-up, showing mainly people coming out through the gate. Today you can see the whole gate and the wall surrounding it, as well as some of the fantastic, typical buildings of Sanaa. The old town and the city wall go back hundreds of years but restorations have been going on all the time because of the fragility of the mud structures.

Hallo Gert. Es freut mich, das alte Stadttor von Sanaa zu sehen. Noch vor einigen Jahren wurden dort die Hände von Dieben angenagelt. Aber der Jemen ist auch zivilisierter geworden. Ein schönes und sehenswertes Photo. Viele Grüße, Wolfgang.
