A shoe merchant in the night market of Bab'al Yemen.
(I know...I'm such an inspirational writer! 100points;)
I don't like this photo much at all, the thought of a man trapped in a mountain of ugly plastic shoes just seems pleasantly bizarre so Ive decided to upload it. Feel free to comment on the aweful contrast and distracting grain.

Hey... first time scientists can study a close shot of a shoe vortex! there might be sects who believe that the universe was create with a black shoe hole, the shoes then slowly evolved to the humankind (with shoes)...
Both great and funny photo : one nitpick though... I'd have prefered if you had "burnt" the sides of the frame like some vignetting to pull us more into your vortex.

You've caught a great repetitive pattern.
I agree with your note
but I believe deserves a maximum for being so unusual. And I think you just showed what you wanted to show: a poor man trapped.

Haha, great shoot Tamarin and a good title to boot. This is a shot that must would walk pass and not have a second thought but you had the state of mind to document it. I think the toning is fine but I would of liked to see you get closer to the subject, shoot this around 24-50mm (looks like 70mm right now) to exaggerate the man in the hole even more, putting him in the center of a tunnel of shoes.

The photographers' dream composition.
To have a working man surrounded by his...Well, works !!!
The grain is never distracting...It's a valor in photography (don't be confused by 'the noise' in digital).
Contrast really can be a bitch...
Whatcha gonna do... Sue the film manufacturer?
Clean cut, Tamarin.
A half of my green makaka goes to your man in there...
His cooperation was really essential in creating this piece.
Stay cool, sister

Hello Tamarin. One must open the Thumbnail only, in order to recognize the motive. And then one is surprised. Shoes, shoes. And in the midst of these shoes the salesman appears. A worth seeing and originally picture. Interesting that you work still with monochrome photographic films. Best regards, Wolfgang.

A great observation and so well framed - OK - technically there may be tweaks and improvements here and there but this one has wings for me - that is quite some display compared to the minimalism of so many european shoe shops........the shoe vortex as Luko termed it, is spot on.......nice work .....one of my favourites here this year.
best wishes Kev
