Photographer’s Note
Village of Manakha.
Manakha is a beautiful village in the mountains of Yemen (2000m over N.N.). Because of the height and the rocks a wall was not necessary. Manakha was an inportant station between the towns Sana’a and Hodeida.

Hallo Achim,
100 countries in your list, you are the most traveled person on TE, that's for sure.
Yemen, not many people go there, so every picture there is like a real treat. the chaos here on the houses, but more the building style is very interesting. An oldie from the box, but it did not loose it's strength after all these years....interesting shot.

Hi, Achim. These Yemeni buildings are quite impressive. They're so high and always have lots of windows. They stand well out against the blue sky and form a nice architectural ensemble.
Have a nice evening,

Hi Achim
Good shadow detail & an excellent warm cold color contrast between the blue sky & red roofs and brick walls. I would gaussian blur the sky. Tfs!

Beautiful Middle Eastern architecture that is seen in sharp details and clear natural colors that contrast brilliantly with the clear blue desert sky.

Hi Achim,
The presence of the trucks has an effect of scale. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. The nice blue sky is sending a light which brings out the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

It's nice to see pictures from this no so travelled country, and an image that stands time well, nice massive architecture that glows well under the light, I'm surprised I can't see a minaret...
Have a nice day JY

Hello Achim
Only for the architecture style, I wish I could go to Yemen, but I don't know how easy is to travel in this country! You handled quite well the strong light...

Hallo Achim,
Architectures really interesting, almost surreal, and beautifully enhanced in this picture where the light and the shadow in the foreground make a good depth to the image. The sharpness is great and allows us to detail the image with pleasure. Thank you Achim.
With all my friendships and a very good end of the day

Hello Achim
Are these brick or stone structures? The cluster of houses look quite amazing, especially their architecture. This is quite an old shot, but scan quality is excellent! As always you show us pictures of countries, less seen. Thanks again for that...

Hey Achim,
A great view on this village, captured in a very nice sunlight. The warm colours stand out very nicely against the blue sky. The composition is great too with a good placement of the large house in the right foreground. Thanks for sharing!

Bonjour Achim.

Laszlo
