Hi David,
Beautifull shot of the ancient mosque.
From your notes, I understand that there's still such written words displayed in the mosque.
Here in INDIA, in some temples, such is written and practised still now.
I don't see any good in such things.. Can't we, as humans be better in senses? Why do we say that a man can't enter a mosque or temple for prayers? Yet, we all live in this world and talk, love about life..Strange !!
Great shot, dear friend.

Hi David,
The rugged finish of the mosque combined with different textures and patterns offers a richly detailed image.
Your subject in humbling position blends with the decor, colour wise. I really admire your street smart attitude and approach to get access to these sacred monuments and temples. Off-the-beaten path photos.
Well done!

Olá David,
uma bonita captura desse momento de devoção, o templo parece bem rústico, mas isso não tira sua riqueza. Um belo trabalho e foto.
Parabéns e Abraço!

Hello David,
Nice photo, i like especially the pov choice and the color contrasts of the arch, the composition works very well with the man at the foreground giving the sense of size to the buiding.
Congratulations, Regards,
Daniel

Hi David, This image brings back memories of a couple of days spent in Ibb. Strange thing about mosques, some are open and others not, I even slept in a couple when I couldn't find anywhere else. Maybe they changed their rules to avoid freeloading foreigners taking advantage!
The texture gives a good indication of the age and rough construction of this example.
cheers, Steve

fitting title for the photo and your note, I'm glad you had a chance to explore this beautiful mosque. I like a lot how the beautiful colourful arch frames the kneeling man, as if shielding and protecting him, and I also like how you composed the photo using the point of view that placed the man facing the open door. very well seen and presented, my compliments.
with kind regards,
Kristine

You captured a spontaneous shot with beautiful architectures on the bg. I read your note about the sign and i think its strange, Indonesia as the largest muslim contry in the world i never find that sign on every mosque i ever saw. Nonetheless i like alot your picture with the beautiful colours on the triumphal arch. Thanks :-)

David - A very nice shot of the man praying. I like the colors of the archway. This shot is unique for it's architecture.
Well captured.

Damn nice photo David. I have a few thoughts that instantly came to mind when I saw this:
1) I think the whole photo looks a bit tilted and a counter clockwise rotation just a bit would help it. It's definitely not bad as it is, not at all, but just something I noticed. I think you tend to be on the less PP is better side though. Looking at it again, the tilt sort of gives a bit of originality.
2) I would like to see what you could do with an SLR...they make em small now, a D60 or 450xsi...
3) You did alot better than I did in Yemen.
...as for the shot: great composition and timing. Love how you caught the man in perfect "prostrating" position, right in front of the door, enhancing the meaning of your title. Great color, good composition (no matter what I said above) and excellent subject and accompanying note.
Excellent work

David,
You have captured an interesting moment with the worshipper kneeling down in front of the mosque's entrance. I'm surprised that only Muslims are allowed in some mosques in Yemen. Fine photo, would be better if you fixed the tilt slightly. Regards,

Great pose, and fascinating architecture, even the dilapitated state of it makes it interesting.
I have never gained entry to mosques in Yemen, nor the rest of the Middle East or Morocco, even though I'm "theoretically" muslim, (well, born one but never practised, and with atheistic preferences since childhood). I tried to play that card in those instances, but they saw through me, I never learned how to pray, neither did my father. I guess I'll never get a visa for Mecca!

the humble art is fabulous to see here, inclusion of that man praying is fantastic to this compo. Good pov, colors, light and sharpness. We can travel to this place inside your photos. If was there I would like to make a shot showing details of the arch and the colored chess, creating a geometrical compo.
hugs
