[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Djibla was founded by the King Ali Bin Mohammad Al Sullaihi. It was the capital of Sulaihide Dynasty which ruled Yemen as from 1047 till 1138 AD.Djiblah used to be called "the two river city" as it is on a hilltop between two flowing perennial rivers.

To get to Djibla these days (or at least in 1990!) you had to get a taxi from Ibb. There was a bit of collusion going on with the local drivers making it impossible to get a fair price for the short distance, but still worth a visit.

Hello Stephen,
this is an extraordinary place! Your point of view helps a lot to understand the architecture of the settlement and the existence of ruins. Very well exposed with nice colours. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes,
Athanasios.
