To base the choice of a room on the view we can enjoy from its windows, instead on its cleanness, can provide surprises. If you believe that it's the enchantment of the enlightened palace's view that kept me awake late at night, you're only half right. It was, most of all, the sizeable annoyance that I had to share the bed with fleas! So, I advice you, if you go to Sayun, to be careful on this point and to maybe avoid the very central Al Gasser hotel... until the team reconsiders cleanness as one of its duties.

I'll remember your advice but thank the fleas because if they hadn't kept you aake we woudn't have got this beautifully controlled, glowing image. I love the architecture as much as I like your imaging.

Hi, Marine, I agree with Aadiil. Unlucky for you, but lucky for us. Quite a nice scene. So empty it looks like a movie set. Yemen has got to be a fascinating place to visit. But, if I ever go, I'll keep your advice in mind. Thanks for the warning. Best, -Hugh

not taking the fleas and all the other nuisance that you had to take as granted - the view out of the window at least must have been a small compensation. The architectural momument in front is a good one and certainly a lot of it is due to the golden light taht you got surrounding it.
