Nothing special, but the first photo yet from Al Mukalla on this site, also something of a digital vs film camera comparison because I will upload a film version to workshop. Al Mukalla is the capital of Hadramout province and one of Yemen's largest ports. The whitewashed architecture was difficult to expose with the sea, and I wish I had a tad more on the left side. Anyway the WS version zooms out a little. Shot in the morning but after the sun too high. There were some boys swimming in the smelly (but clean looking) harbour, this has one of them.

Merhaba Tan, sıradan bir fotoğraf olduğunu söylemene karşın çok güzel bir görüntü, gökyüzü biraz soluk kalmış ancak açı ve kompozisyonu çok beğendim.. tfs
PS: Film version has vivid and true to life colours than digital version, unless there is some pp..

Hey Tan. Thanks for uploading the WS. You know I might prefer the composition of the workshop just because the foreground seems more fluid in that one. But both are beautiful. tfs Tan!

Another brilliant picture of Yemen...this time the buildings in white. Wonderful POV with the boats in the FG & colour contrast of the sea & boats with the buildings

In a compositional capture I prefer the WS with the w-angle but both are good ones. Nice beach with a nice perspective and enquadrementview. Good light, colors and fine sharpness. A good work so well seen and composed. Congratulations and best regards.

Before even having seen your WS I thought that this is one instance where a wider angle would be useful. Interesting to compare the digital v film shots - the 20D has a cleaner feel whereas the scan has more vivid colours. In any case, this is an attractively framed scene with plenty of colour and shapes for the eye to enjoy.

Wonderful repetition of the boats, with superb color & sharpness. I like the whitewashed walls of the town, contrasting with the turquoise sea. Good work!

Hi Tan, good shot. i like the composition with a double focal point. the boat in the low side and the white citadel in the upper part, with a beautiful sea in the middle.
excellent POV, focus, light, colours...

Bakış açısı, netlik, derinlik harika. Binaların denizdeki yansımaları da güzel. Ellerine sağlık.

Great composition! I like the near/far aspect of this, with the boats and the town well balanced in the frame, and together they give a nice sense of depth. The man in the water adds that extra bit of interest to make this really special. Great work!

Beautiful composition and nice colors. I like the arch drawn by the coast and the boats. Regards, Yvonne

Nice architecture again and very appreciable colours.
I read Al Meymoun in the second boat; it's means the monkey:))

I think this is such a beautiful photo with the colourful boats in the foreground on the beach. The view over the ocean and distant buildings is amazing. Your workshop is amazing too and shows a little more of the scenery which I really like. Great composition here with wonderful details and amazing colours!

ces barques au premier plan équilibre bien la photo avec les batiment en fond, les couleurs contrastent avec l'eau et le reste, belle photo

Really nice view, it really reminds me of the postcard view of Mikonos, maybe one day it will convert itself into the open minded resort of the middle east,

hi Tan WOW i like this composition.. very nice :)

Superb use of the foreground boats to frame the shot. This is captured in classic three part mode, with each layer providing scenes of interest. The myriad hues of the boats contrst well with the colour of the water. The swimmer ehhances, and the buildings are seen with good clarity. A restful place. Well done.

Hi Tan, it's another great shot, the composition works really well & the colours are strong. In comparing this to the workshop...well maybe the workshop is better in terms of composition, but I think this image beats it in overall effect, it seems to have better colours & sharpness. Of course, if I was to see the slide or print in front of me then I might not say that!

You choose a perfect view for this picture. The result is a beautiful composition with the boats in front and the lovely white city on the other side of the bay.

Nice shot here...the colors are great...I didn't know if Al Mukalla still existed...i have a coin from Al Mukalla, which for the longest time I couldn't figure out as to where it was from until I found out that there was a dynasty in Al Mukalla a few hundred years back which minted coins from there...now I can put a face to the coin as I now know how Al Mukalla looks like. Thanks for sharing.

Nice POV, with beautiful colours and contrasts!

As you said, there's nothing really special about this picture, but it is its general atmosphere and colors that make it interesting. It tastes as an authentic picture of an authentic place. Not just a nice place for picture hunters, but a real place where real people live.
Maybe I'm wrong, but in any case it is the feeling I have while looking at it !
Thanks for sharing !

U seem to have made it a mission to be the first to introduce new places in TE! Nice DoF for this shot and a good idea to put the digital as well as the film camera version of the photo for comparison!!
Cheers & TFS
