Wow, great view! Welcome to TE, very good picture to start with. The fog is fantastic. Just a pity that we see a lot of the reflection (especially the camera) in the window. I see that you are using a compact camera, so a polarising filter is no option for you to avoid the reflection. Next time you can try to get your lens as close as possible to the window. That should also help.

Very surprising the fog could invade Dubai , was is wet ? was it due to pollution ?

Welcome to TE. This shot is very beautifull. a poetic and vertiginous aspect at the same time in a good composition with diagonal.
but...but the reflexion :°
I wish you to shoot again this splendid spectacle for a superb photo.
thank's a lot for sharing

Fantastic. This actually gives me goosebumps; it is so ominous. Of course, like you, I'm sure, I wish the reflection was out of the picture, but there's no arguing that the shot itself is powerful enough so that the flaws don't hold one's attention for too long.

Overall photo is really incredible. It looks like in the movie "the day after tomorrow" - like it is covered in snow! Its a pity Your camera can be seen in the window reflection, also the horizon is falling to the left (but this can be possibly corrected in PS).
Keep the good work!

I like this image of the city eveloped in fog which creats sort of a dreamlike mood. Personally, I think thought hat I would have cloned out the reflection of the camera, but still great first posting. Welcome to TE

I love seeing the city in this condition. It's such a surreal look. The buildings seem to float and their height just seems so much greater. They really are skyscrapers in this situation. And the cranes really seem to float so lightly above the buildings and fog. And this closest building with its soft of retro style pyramidal roof makes me think of the scenes of the city in Star Wars. I think I would have tried cloning out the reflection of the camera. But it sure is an impressive sight. Nicely done.

Amazing view, fog is definitely not what one would expect in Dubai, is it? Is it in part smog/pollution, or simply fog? The view has a lot of potential, but as others have mentioned, you should work on avoiding the reflection and pay attention to the tilt - the horizon needs to be horizontal. Great photo to start with, welcome to TE!

Welcome to TrekEarth, Erwin.
Fabulous view. I really enjoy these misty type of shots, and this one is exceptionally good. Great composition.
I tried a workshop to remove the reflections of your camera. I hope you like it.

I first thought it was a pic in a cementery, as they are usually depicted, with fog and tombstones, but when seeing the big one, wow! It looks as if it were not possible, but its there. Glad that you had a camera at that moment to show us this very nice view.

In spite of the consequence of the machine in the glass, it is a photo very obtained well. Congratulations.

This is a great and magical shot - but for the reflection which I'm afraid is quite obvious and once the viewer notices it, it just doesn't go away. Otherwise great. I agree with Pascal - it would be great to try and re-shoot it.

Wow, welcome to TE with a stunning first post. I think I can actually see your reflection in the glass, but that is not bad at all. I think I would have rotated a bit to the right to make the second tower from the right straight rather than the first. At the moment the overall impression is of a slight tilt to the left.

Very nice picture. The camera reflection (+ some others) in the window is regrettable but the subject is really great. The buildings in the mist are impressive. Well done!!
Diana's WS is nice! Good job!

Watching this photo we now know why some building are called "skycrappers" !
Good photo even if its quality is not very good. Unfortunately you have some reflection but i don't know how you couldn't. At least you didn't use your flash ;-)
I tried a workshop for you trying to improve your photo. Hope you'll like !
Welcome to TE !

Le reflet de l'appareil dans la fenêtre nous ramène sur terre. sans ça, on se croirait dans un jeu vidéo fantastique !
Superbe!

An amazing view of Dubai! A pola filter would probably have removed your reflection from the window. But it does add a ghostly effect. But if you have a solid landscape, use a circular pola. TFS! The other guys have done a great job cloning the reflection.

Hi Erwin,
A motif doesn´t make a picture but I can agree that this one got something special. I´ve checked out your picturegallery and I can see you got an eye for great motifs indeed but there´s a big lack of some kind of X-factor that really makes a picture. Nearby isn´t quite, I believe it´s not a matter of that your viewing angle should be widen. Maybe you´re in a hurry, maybe you´re not taking your time. I can see you got a great sense for colors as well. It´s probably a photowork of yours made in mediocrity and some kind of indifference. In broad outlines I like your shots but I need a spicy focus or something. What do you think?
Greetings Silja

Dubai 2035, the level of the water grow up...
Now people are living on the top of the building.
Very apocaliptic picture and very nice too.

Just gorgeous Erwin - It's almost seems like a model of a city. Was fortunate enough to spend a little time in this city but never saw such a view. A great one.

Great image, shame you haven't used a filter to remove the reflection in the window, but a good image, very Star wars-y, like the city in the sky.

Bonjour Erwin
La vue est exceptionnelle, dommage que l'on voit le reflet de ton appareil photo. Je suppose qu'à cette altitude les fenêtres doivent être verrouillées...

Welcome to T.E, nice shot, the fog is fantastic it's like you were on a plane.
The horizon line isn't ;ine up and we can see the camera in the glass, but don't worry just pay attention for those details. Good picture for be taken with a compact camera.
Congratulation
