I was out early for a run at Jumeirah beach, so it was quiet and peaceful, with no one around. Although the huge Palm Jumeirah development is happening close by, the waters here are still surprisingly clear. If you look very carefully, you will notice the browny haze on the horizon, which is where millions of tonnes of rock and sand are being dumped into the sea to create the island for this amazing development.
I continue to be amazed at the architecture of the Burj Al Arab hotel, so I continue to photograph it from different angles. In this case I had nothing as foreground interest, so concentrated on capturing the lines and shapes of the water ripples, with a touch of sunlight.
I did a bit of sharpening, but am not sure if I've taken it too far.

Re-posted with changes by Dennis....thanks for your help in correcting my image....I can only learn from it.

Hi Grant,
Lovely shot ... I like your POV. The gradient blue sky looks fantastic as the background. Well composed ... excellent! TFS

Lovely minimalistic shot, the colors are amazingly beautiful, and u got here a very sharp image. I like the vertical perspective, I think it's the best one for this shot. Great job.

Gordana

I really like the composition with the ripples in the foreground. Great use of the rule of thirds, both vertically and horizontally. This is such an eye-catching structure and you have captured it very well.

Ryan

Hi Grant. You are fortunate to be working in such a dynamic place. I love the building too and have been admiring its shape whenever I come across a photo. Yours gives it a wonderful exposure across the stretch of flat water and against the blue sky. It looks like a giant, yet graceful sail. Nice work. Regards. Klaudio.

Grant, I saw several images of this unique building in the background, however you managed to get something novel here. The crispness ot the small waves in the foreground and the blue/ turquois colors of the sea are an extraordinary touch. Excellent off center placement of the building.

Grant - i like the crystal clear clarity of this image. By making the building small in the fram and concentrating on the sea you have made the builing the centre of attention.
Regards Colin

Hi Grant

Unique POV of this famous landmark in Dubai… good composition and framing
