Photographer’s Note
The tree you see in the shot is just one species of the Acacia tree, also known as the 'Tree of Life' and are in the plenty around the desert and mountain areas this region.
While heading to the mountain region of Oman, I happened to catch a glimpse of this one solitary tree that was parched, crackled and on it's last leg of existance. What made me look twice at this particular tree was it's almost human-like figure, with two drooping branches for arms and wisping branches for it's head/hair.
Post Process - Converted to B&W and adjusted a bit of the brightness and contrast.

It does look like a man, very nice. I like that you can see its "family" at the horizon.
Why is it called tree of life?

Really nice image Derrick, I missed it originally but I love the Horizon, it almost shimmers with haze and the only shade visible is under this wonderful tree.
Another great shot
