Photographer’s Note
To me, public art is a measure of the humane side of a city. It appeals to the non-commercial, emotional side of the population. It beautifies, entertains, amuses, and provokes thought.
It is therefore with great pleasure that I noticed the recent addition of a selection of fantastic ant sculptures at the entrance to the financial precinct of Dubai. I love them and think they’re great.
The works are on loan from American sculptor, Susan P Cochran, who comments “I don’t want people to be too darn serious.”
On the other hand, if you want to be serious, there is a more sublime message in the hard working, industrious nature of the ant and the lessons we as humans can take from that.
This image is a fair reflection of how I felt after the unenthusiastic response I received after the first placement in this series of images - but as the saying goes "no pain, no gain", so here we go again!

Hello JP,
This art is very interesting. The shape of this creature remind me a lot of the PC game Half-Life. Nice light and details to present this picture. Perhaps cropping the red sidewalk would enhance the quality of the image though. Thanks JP.
