Here's a picture in Dubai from my hotel window across to the magnificent Burj Al Arab hotel.
It's an Ok picture, but I posted it because it was taken before I become interested in photography generally. I didn't see it as a problem that I was shooting through the hotel window and didn't really think about the bext place to take the shot.
I only realise now that despite post processing, there are some things that you can't change afterwards. Focus, perspective, reflections in the window, etc.
There are so many photo opportunities I've had that I probably won't get again. I guess everyone has a few of those photographs in their collection - if only I knew then what I know now.
That's one of the things I really like about TE, you can search for a place that you have a bad photo of and find a better one. You find the photo that perhaps you should have taken, or the one you would take if you are lucky enough ever to return.

Hi Tim, the shot may not have been planned but you still have a great subject here taken in nice (morning?) light. I stayed at a hotel (Hilton Jamerira i believe) a couple of years back that was just up the coast from the Burj-Al-Arab. I think your view is closer tho.

I also went to this place before I was really into photography. I went through 6 throwaway cameras and now I regret not taking quality equipment. Good composition but have to take away a point because of the window!

Very useful note!!!
I think you have got an excelant shot considering that it had been through a window... very good view point....
Some of the best shots are the ones that go wrong technically....so Keep cliking !!!
Would you mind telling me the Hotel and the place (room no etc) to try to get a shot of the same!!!?
