Photographer's Note
The Burj Khalifa, tallest building in the world at 828 metres high. It is seen here from Dubai Mall, where a large blue pool of water lies in front of the Burj Khalifa. The building is so tall that it takes all the wide angle power that my camera has to fit it into the field of view. A reflection of the sun high up on the building gave an interesting effect. I got there on a Sunday morning well before the mall opened, so there was no one else around.
I used Photoshop to straighten out the converging lines that you get when taking wide angle views of buildings. And I used free software called Noiseware to smooth out noise in the sky.

Hi Vincent,
Dubai architecture is often described as the kitschiest thing on Earth, yet, I have to admit that this tower is really impressive, slick and graceful. Halfway between a rocket and a modern interpretation of iconic towers like the Chrysler building or the Empire State, this skyscraper reconcile me with latest architectural trends.
The photo you've made of it is gorgeous Vincent. I feel that the cloudless sky suits this tower perfectly, because it's as pure as the tower lines. You are right, the sun burst on the summit is beautiful, underlining the metallic quality of the structure.
You've done an impeccable work to straighten this tall thing and the result is admirable.
Congratulations!
André

Hello Vincent
Super tall buildings are often difficult to photograph as you have to stand far away. Good work you have done here. Congrats

The megalomaniac sign of these people, literally reaching the sky. These are wonders of engineering, and in the photo it is really amazing, the vertical cut is very suitable. Good work, congratulations!

Hi Vincent! Perfect POV! Did you use a wide angled lens in here? I remember I had to stitch two photos of mine cause this building was really tall. A great souvenir from Dubai, love how this building stands tall and proud. The sun's reflection adds a nice effect. Excellent clarity and sharpness. Great work!
my compliments,
Matt

Hi Vincent,
Wow, now that is a superstructure if I ever saw one. It is such a bold statement. Interesting to read about the construction methods, and not so favourable labour sourcing on this project. I like the colours of the surrounds and the sheen on the structure itself. Footage of the 'opening fireworks' on the Burj K is a great thing to look up on youtube. Cheers,
Matt
