Photographer’s Note
Sitting alone working in an upstairs area of the Grand Bazaar this gentleman became the willing subject for a few shots - I am sure you will find a portrait of him amongst Izzet's work somewhere too - such an interesting face and so happy - as so many people seem to be in Istanbul - to become the subject of the lens.
I wanted to take a shot as if it were a candid portrait so I detached myself from my two TE friends and disappeared around the corner looking for the light - I'll post a more consciously observed portrait tomorrow.
The trick as always to try and find that position where you catch the light in the eye too.

Hi Kev, great result for your efforts, the expression, the catch light in the eye, the stubble, the dark light. B&W works well. Look forward to seeing tomorrows. cheers, Steve

Hi Kevin,
Very nice face indeed. The dark postprocessing works well with the soft mood.
Cheers

closest to my ideas of a photography
those delightful details: His eye, silver whiskers, incredible light giving us all these shapes and edges, and that woman back there...!
What I don't like ?
That black vertical strip ( tree trunk ?) back there...
I know, I know... Being completely fascinated with the main subject - we tend to forget to look closely at the back...I know that myself, very well and quite painfully...
Beside that...
One of your 'kevryans' for sure.
Your - so easy to recognise - signature - is there.
In strong, talking voice
salute, Kev

Hi Kev, the light coming from the right side make the composition more effective.. i like your choice of B&W.. but i wish i could see the other eye of the man..His nose doesn't let e to see it..
i like the blurry background too..
Best wishes,
ReLa
