Photographer’s Note
Some were busy packing to return to Istanbul where they are living now, leaving behind only a few members of their family in the ancestral house. 2 women were calling someone in the garden below from these windows ; as I had seen the house inside and met all the inhabitants for a very strong "Rize tea", I knew that there were many more behind the windows and asked them to lean a bit (if possible) for a photo. Only women obliged...
... Not totally satisfied with this version but could not correct better the distortions. Here is a photo from the far of such a house and more photos from the same women to come soon.
I spent 2 nights in Güneysu, half an hour from Rize on the Black sea coast by minibus. The area is very dynamic economically, the inhabitants are richer than inland and therefore their traditional houses, such as this one are disappearing fast ; some are still there, in need of repair or totally restored such as the Prime Minister's house (whose parents are still living in this village). A tea factory, working non-stop is employing many persons in the area.

Bonjour Catherine,

LOL!
The distortion makes the ladies at the top left look like cartoon dolls with 2 dimensions. Correcting it? I don't know how to, but i'd be glad to learn how you gained that kind of distortion. It looks like real fun...

beautiful cadrage, cath! distortion is a problem, yes, but I also don't know how to solve it. I still like this. Lovely, full of life and joy, great textures and harmonious colours, and fun!

Salut Catherine
A good, upward pov, with the window sans people, top right, nicely breaking the repetitive pattern. Good colour & sharpness. Well seen!

I don't know why but in some of the photos I like the distortions. Especially if that distortion is around the smiling part of the body:)
A very neighbour-at-the-corner photo, so lovely, so sincere.
PS: I added WS for you showing the grandmother in Splash 1:)

good morning cath,
distorsions are quite a delicate issue and have to be treated with much care but for this image i'll join the 'i like distorsion here' group ;o), for some strange reason it gives new dimensions to the image, can't exactly put it in words.
nice collective portrait and an even more nicer collective smile to you ... you're always good in generating those ;o), but that's not a surprise anymore for us.
interesting!

Really good photo here! I love all the women looking out the windows from this extremely unique house. The people almost look like they were cut out and laid over a grid work, but they weren't, obviously. Very interesting.

superb capture, cath... bit pitty for the distortion effect in the TL corner but still this is an unusual photo...

Salut Cath

I thought that I know how to fix this lens distortion. So I wanted to try this one, but I couldn't do it. Maybe I am better at fixing more simple distortions.
But I like your distortion here! And I totally agree with Rigo's cartoon dolls idea! Yours is almost like a magical distortion :)
Ladies trapped in the graphism... Nice work Cath, congrats,
