Photographer’s Note

Today I present to you a basket maker. This photo was taken three months ago at Akgedik Village, Mersin where these poor people make their living with this job. The basket-maker was employed at the construction of a great hamper. He makes the basket with reed.

Great shot to show this great art work. This pov is fantastic! I like the reeds in diagonal and the weaver working, sorrounded by some pieces already finished. I really like the movement of the reed you have captured. Great light and well chosen format!

Sepet yapılan malzemeye ne ad veriliyor aklıma gelmedi şimdi, işte o çubukların kadrajın alt kısmını ve sol köşeyi tamamen kapatması çok hoş göründü gözüme, adamın etrafında çok dolandın mı bu açıya karar verirken bilmiyorum ama açın gerçekten enfes, sepet tabanlarını ve yerdeki çubukları birleştirince sanki picasso'nun bir eserini izler gibiyim, havadaki çubukların hareketi de olayı bitirmiş zaten, gönülden tebrikler..

Merhaba Ali Riza. You have excelled in this superb shot. i love the atmosphere with its earthy colours, the touches of gold from the woven lids. The composition and use of light are faultless.I love the way the curving tops of the reeds the man is holding catch the light. A skillful basket master taken masterly by you. You deserve greatly all the compliments here. This is a piece of life, the man intent in his work, the superb perspective with the reeds leading to the hands, the opening in the wall, the simplicity of it all, and some examples of his finished work. There is a fine light on it all too, bring out the textures beautifully.

Tek kelimeyle "muhteşem" ! Öyle keyifli bir bakış açısı kullanmışsın ki, sıradan bir görüntü mükemmel bir grafik etki kazanmış. Yerdeki sazların duraganlığı, ustanın elinde canlanmış, dinamizm kazanmış.
Pek çok güzel işin var burada ama, bence bu ilk 10'a girevcek nitelikte bir kare.

That is an excellent one: The subject is interesting, the reeds on the floor take the eye up to the basket maker, holding two pieces with motion blur on the tip of them! And also a neutral background with graphical circular basket covers on the wall...

And finally you can see the result over his head.
You read a story of a reed...

This is the best perspective, i have ever seen.
