Well, the Mardin town center is behind those hills. It was under a serious sand storm. We were rather safe here, watching the colorless sky from the ancient Syriac monastery called Deyrulzafaran (Mor Hananyo).

The entrance part of the monastery is seen here. The road to thr right leads to the main monastery complex, which is open to visit daily.

more from Wikipedia:

Mor Hananyo Monastery (Syriac: ܕܝܪܐ ܕܡܪܝ ܚܢܢܝܐ, Dairo d-Mor Ḥannanyo) is an important Syriac Orthodox monastery near the city of Mardin in Turkey. It is usually better known by its nickname, the 'Saffron Monastery' (Syriac: ܕܝܪܐ ܕܟܘܪܟܡܐ, Dairo d-Kurkmo; Arabic: دير الزعفران‎, Dairu 'l-Za‘farān; Turkish: Deyrülzafarân Manastırı). This name is derived from the warm colour of its stone. The monastery acquired its present, official name from Saint Hananyo (the Syriac equivalent of Ananias, which is its Greek form), who was Metropolitan of Kfartuta from 793 to 800. Saint Hananyo renovated the monastery 793.

Founded in 493 AD, the monastery was formerly the seat of the patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church from 1160 until 1932 where it relocated to Damascus.

Dear Sayat
This is actually very nice. The effect of the duststorm can be seen in the sky with the haze covering the sun. We do have frequent dust storms in Delhi in the summers, but I am scared to take my camera out because of the flying sand & dust. Well created perspective with the diagonal of the path on the right. Well done my friend!
Regards
Angshu
