Photographer’s Note

Yüksek Kilise (High Church) in Güzelyurt, Aksaray, Central Anatolia.

The only written information I could find on the net is from the official site of Aksaray town:

It is situated at a distance of 3 kms. to the town, being 1 km. West from the center. It is built on a natural, rocky hill; both a church and a place for the monks may be seen.

People say it is known as a nuns' monastery.

I have taken this shot from the road leading to Güzelyurt. In the background, the mighty Mount Hasan is seen. It is a dead volcano, most probably the one pictured in the wall paintings found at Çatal Höyük near Konya.

You may want to check the workshop for a closer view.
