Photographer's Note
I've been away in Turkey during the last couple of weeks. I discovered Cappadocia, walking all day long in the many valleys around Göreme. Fantastic geological formations, so many different colors changing all day long, amazing place. But beyond all these unique natural wonders, I also discovered a country I never visited before, a land at the intersection of so many cultures, people deeply rooted in an amazingly rich past. It was a truly great discovery. I'll certainly return. Here in the Pigeons valley about to reach the troglodyte village of Uçhisar that you can see in the back.

Salut Vincent,

Hi Vincent. Sounds like you didn't go on an organized tour. Nice to have the time to walk and explore. i saw a lot of Turkey on my trip, but unfortunately one couldn't hang around and explore at any length. Great POV with the "fort" city on the hill.Mysterious and beautiful place. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Vincent,
Good to see you back, hope you had a great trip.
When i look at the technical side than it lacks of light and colour. Well, there is colour, but because the place is in the shade it looks more like soft pastel colours wich i do not prefer in such a landscape. Would like to see it in full glory with the most beautiful deep colours in them. I have been there myself and know how the place can look like.
But, i also have to admit that you pov has given you a really superb composition. My eye leads me through the whole image to the far background, what a great pov, wish only the light and colours would be more magical...
Have a great day, Henk

Welcome back from your trip. This is an excellent composition, which, from what I have seen, is fairly unique. It shows what different PsOV you can find by walking. The light could be better, but you know that, and when travelling, we have to take what we are given. The sky is quite dramatic with stormy looking clouds. I look forward to more from here.

I think you made the best use of poor light here. Very clear, and the way the road leads the eye around the bend and to the caves above is well done.

bonjour Vincent

Compliments,
Cath.

Salut Vincent,
I am not surprised you were so well impressed with Turkey in general and Cappadocia in particular. Beautiful view with an almost eerie light. The winding valley makes a very nice lead in to the village that looks like a Hollywood set of some scifi movie.

Salut Vincent,
the soft darkness over the landscape there makes the fantastic impression a bit too something full of secrets, pleasant for that place. The view against the slope and the way through all those rocks are well put together and the great grey cloud is excellent exposed.

Hello Vincent
Good to see you back. Hope you had a great trip. The geological formation we see here are really magical. The path makes a perfect lead-in. We see clouds in the sky & therefore you got muted light in this picture. But a fine way to compose this shot, as we can see upto a great depth.

A very eerie, other-worldly look here, Vincent. Probably that's due to the brighter light on the ground than one would expect with that sky. And of course the odd forms of the landscape help, too. It's like a set from a science fiction movie--a Klingon should be stepping out from behind one of those rocks. Regards, Ken.

Hello Vincent,
You've created a veritable stage setting of Cappadocia, and between your photograph and succinct note, you've done a very good job introducing the place. Despite deep roots in Turkey, I've visited the place only once. The views will always be etched in my memory.
Warm regards,
