There are many villages in Turkey named Doganbey. This one is on the edge of the National Park near Kusadasi.
The village was abandoned in the 1950's because of a lack of water, and allowed to fall into disrepair. Now skilled stonemasons and master craftsmen are utilising the stones to build new "summer homes".
The mosque is still standing - although badly damaged by fire and earthquakes. |
