CİTY GAS WORKS SCENES
Untill 1993 main energy source in many turkish households was city-gas. About 4 different fascilities in different parts of İstanbul was been established beginning from 1890s. Mainly by french companies and later by german companies.
They lasted untill mid od 1990s and than closed. Nowadays citizens of İstanbul use either propan gas or earth gas.
But those old gas works are left over to their destinies and are disappearing day by day.
The scenes Ill post to the site, are from the Gas-Work Hasanpasa in the asian part of İstanbul, which supplied many turkish hauseholds with city gas until 1993.
There are some rumours, that those fascilities will be turned into cultural centers, after been cleaned and restored.
Here, on top of this old armchair, you can see the remains of two big still tubes, which is a mark of the spot, from where the gas distribution started.
Şimdi gün be gün çürüyüp gidiyorlar.

What a great abandoned place shot! You have captured the atmosphere well. Very interesting subject with beautiful colors and textures. Nice contrast between the walls and armchair. As a detail I like how the color of the fabric works with the colors of the walls.
This gas work looks very interesting - I´m looking forward to see more shot from you taken there...

It's funny where old armchairs and sofas end up - I saw one in a field the other day.
I really like the faded textures you captured here Mesut, with the decrepit armchair being the icing on the cake.
I think a straight-on shot facing the chair, with the two pipes above would also have worked well, but the way you took it facing into the corner works very well too.
Nice work.
Cheers,
Ben

Hallo Mesut!
Wo Du Dich überall herumtreibst ... ?! ;-)

Mesut,
this seems to be a very relaxing and cozy corner in the old factory environment. The texture of the wall and the recliner are fantastic.
I just write me critiques preferentally in english. For some reason it is easier for me, but it doesn't bother me at all to get yours in german :-)

Hello Mesut,
What a nice colourful corner you found here and with this empty sofa, it looks like a created scene for a movie.
I love the patterns and colours of the wall in contrasts with the ones of the sofa and then the roughness of this large tube exiting from the all.
Well done and nice serie you are building up.
Cheers,
Paulo

Merhaba Mesut Bey,
Once in Turkey, a young man declared to me emphatically : "In Turkey, we love all sorts of antiques !!!" (it was addressed to me because I was protesting at his compliments, telling him that I was probably the age of his mother, and it was a good joke :)), but I think that this illustrates well your photo and your taste for old objects -
... reading your note I understand that it is about something else ; the details of the wall in particular are great, with the old sofa there is like a real presence in your photo !
Ellinize ve gözünüze saglik,
Selam ve sevgiler,
Cath.

Bonjour Mesut,
Best regards.
Daniel.
