Photographer’s Note

Last summer I had posted a few portraits of these young girls, some holding the Holy Coran. This pictures shows them during the course. The course was taking place inside a modern mosque, with a classical Iznik Tile decoration on it's walls.

The very varied and lively expressions on these girls' faces express their characters so well. The colours are both beautiful and natural, and the decorated walls make an interesting background. The touch of gold on the books echoes the gold on the wall very effectively.

Thanks for your critics for my last posting about the russian church ceremony. There I wish I had great perspective but I took that picture in the restrective conditions because there was a mess where all cameras are banded.... Beautiful faces and eyes presented so well. I like the shallow depth of field that makes the faces stand out. Excellent tight composition. This is my favorite in this series from the summer. Best wishes,

Its really good shot! Quality is perfect - like always, but the faces of girls, their clothes and this typical cover of head create really amazing atmosphere.

I think this is a very good work with a difficult portrait. The light is well managed, but most important the composition. And also you made a good work.
