Hello All!
You can see at the picture the Monastery of St.Marinos or Srkhouvank.
This former Nunnery located not far from Gürpinar town, above the Gürpinar plain that was formerly called Hayots Dzor, the "Valley of the Armenians".
Long time ago (about a hundred years) almost every village in that valley had a church. During WWI many villages with their churches was destroyed. Nowadays most of settlements rebuild but now with mosques.
This is very peaceful place. You can sit there & look at the church, imagine it's conical roof with small cross, at snow on mountains around, clouds & think about time that has gone and will never come back... |
