Photographer's Note
Look after the poor, a message from the Mosque Rüstem Paşa Camii seen from the Galata Bridge during the Ramadan. And indeed also at Taksim, a popular meeting place, there were packages of food distributed to poor people.
We arrived yesterday evening by flight in Istanbul and this morning by nightbus to Kapadokya.
Türkiye'den, selamlar var !

HEY!
You went to Kapadokya this morning????
When i called you i was already in Taksim to meet you but Cath told me you were near Galata Bridge. And i turned back all that long way to home :(( So I thought you were going to catch the flight @ 9 PM but you were taking photos on the bridge (or did you miss your fligt?)! So be it >:(
And i must say, you looked up the map wrong. It is Yeni Cami (New Mosque). Rüstem Paşa Camii is at the right side of the bridge according to your POV. Peeeh!!!
OK. This much scold is enough. I am content now :)
I knew you would have to change your style when you came here. Istanbul is particularly a city of nights, and you had your best chance by taking photos on that time of the day, exact place, exact timing. It is amazing how you immediately got close to natives, this means you will enjoy Kapadokya very much. I love your POV and the use of yellow light here.
Looking forward to seeing you both on Friday :))
Cheers,
Deniz

Hello Henk,
Great shot, great story ! Wonderfull pov and great light management, allthough not easy. İt's a great parrallelity. Look after the poor ; and he looks after the fishes !
Deniz is right; it's Yeni Cami and not the Rustempasa (which has only one minarette and therefore never had this light signs in it's history). But it doesn't make any difference, this work is great !
TFS and enjoy your stay in Kapadokya
Best regards

Hi Henk.
And also congratulations because this is a great photo. Technically is very good, but there is something more: the atmosphere.
Well seen and thanks for sharing.

So your opening note on Turkey, raises a lot of expectation for more to come...
The Bokeh on the reflection on the water is memorable...
Nice one here...

Hallo Henk,
John.

I really like the fisherman in first plan and the mosquée in the back plan ; all Istambul in one shot !
