This photograph was taken in Yeni (new) Doğanbey at Söke-Aydin...

LIFE AND DEATH, SIDE BY SIDE

Yeni Doğanbey is in the National Park of Dilek Peninsula as the old one... Eski (old) Doğanbey (Doe-ahn-bay) was once filled with Turkish Muslims and Greek Orthodox peoples, living and working side by side, until the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923, which sent the Greeks to Greece and brought many Turkish Muslims to Turkey. Then the town was abandoned, and the new population built a new Doğanbey down the mountain, nearer the sea.

I hope I will upload about the old village's photographs in the forthcoming days... And you can see the beautiful old village...

At first it didn't impress much, but that slowly faded when I noticed how well is composed and the master work you did with the lights. Maybe it isn't one of your posts that I like better, but it is certainly a great photo. I suppose that my initial reluctance in liking it better has to do with the boat not being so nice, although it goes well with the sad story you tell on the note.
