Photographer’s Note
After coming back from the Sabancı Museum where one of my Mongolian photos was used in an exhibition, I met with İzzet Keribar. He toured me and my sisters around in the famous Istanbul bazaar for a few hours. It was great meeting this kind and helpful man.
In the bazaar you can litterally buy everything, and everyone is trying to sell you their stuff. They do that usually in a very charming way. I loved being there.

Hi Rinie,
Bling, bling... good titre, like a sound, like a song. The shot is beautiful, I like the space's absence, as usual in these countries. The yellow clothes is very useful, a big colors contrast! Have a nice time!

Hi dear, I´m back and It has been a pleasure to discover this photo. I love the texture created by the jewels, kind of curtain of a theather, in somehow it is indeed, specially with all the game of prices between shopkeeper and client. Lately I love subjects in the midle, so I love you put him in this position. Beside I find the sharpen great, considering the light conditions, not very good if I remember well the great bazaar.
Thanks for comeback to TE.
Miguel
PS: I´ve survived the mountain.

One more good one, Rinie. He looks like part of the "furniture", lost between the hearrings and other garments. I like the way he's framed like he was behind a curtain.

Hi Rinie. A lovely take from the bazaar, with a good use of the curtain of "blingbling" to add a discrete and artistic touch to the scene. Also nice how the jewelry pieces establish an almost monochromatic setting, making the people and their interaction stand out more. Well captured.

Hi Rinie,
I really like the way you've captured this scene in the Istanbul Bazaar with these two persons facing each other and separated by all this jewelry. The choice of the title is also excellent! I'll be spending a day in Istanbul in August and really hope that we can have a quick visit of this place.
Have a nice day.

Hi Rinie, great to see you posting again on a more regular basis. There's indeed a nice hide and seek quality to this one nd I love the subtle interaction between the customer and vendor too.
A graphic and atmospheric capture - a very nice slice of Istanbul life! Your pics and stories certainly put it high on our travel short list.
Have a fine weekend,
Bert

Hi Rinie, getting quiter prolific again. Nicely executed candid, with a graphic twist from the all the jewlery. I like the way it kind of makes a curtain for shop keeper.

Is anyone surprised a woman traveling with her sisters would find a jewelry shop? Great photo Rinie, but what really motivated me to post this critique is that it will catapult you over 9000 points. I know that is not the game you're playing here, nor is it for me. But it is too enticing to ignore the possibility. I note that your 18-200 has remained glued to the front of your D70 since you bought it. What a wonderful travel lens. Fine work with it as well.

Hi Rinie.
You met Izzet. That's great. I met him last fall in Barcelona.
But... about the photo.
Nice graphism in this composition but it is much more important the scene with the seller and all the jewelry shop.
Regards.

I guess you couldn't have come up with a more appropriate title, Elaine :O)
You have cropped it all so well and placed the seller and the woman perfectly. Good light that gives us a great view of all the....bling bling :)

Hello Rinnie
I like the way you have captured all these objects here. It is very athmospheric.
Perfect light and exposition.

I like how you have got in close for this shot, Rinie, and the way in which the stallkeeper is almost covered by his hanging jewelery (but good that we can still see enough of his face). I don't normally like to see close-ups of the backs of people, but it works okay here because we sense that the woman shopper is looking into her purse to see if she has enough money to buy, whilst the stallkeeper is intensely watching - eagerly anticipating a sale! Nearly every stall and shop in the Grand Bazaar is a photo op in its own right - but some of the merchants don't like you taking photographs - I've been chased away by more than a few. Cheers . . . David
