bonjour,
jolie photo, les couleurs sont très belles vraiment sympa ... merci pour le partage
Alain
i really like this shot. us, Latvians, have always had a great respect for bread, with all the almost-sacred rituals around the baking and eating of bread. and I must admit that living abroad the one thing I miss most is the true Latvian bread. so this photo "speaks to me", I find it very personal, almost intimate - look how carefully the pieces of bread have been piled, for me it shows love and caring. I'm even not talking about how delicious those things look, makes me want to get up and go to the nearest grocery store to try and find something similar :) I particularly like the sun shining almost only on bread. great shot. thanks for sharing.
best,
Kristine

Hmm, they look so delicious with their color and how precisely they are ordered. I like the way the sun illuminates only them, giving some holy felling about the bred. I think the man has a little tired expression on his face, maybe a little sad too, and that combined with the bred is so perfect. This composition also reminds me of poverty too. Great shot.

Gordana
Rinie, querida, the gods of photography brought you here tonite :) I had a long pleasing talk with Miguel this morning and we spent some time talking about you and how you´re missed here.
Girl, you´re an artist. there is such a smoothness in the way the light baths the simit and the man´s face, the way you managed to have everything else fading in darker tones.
lovely lovely. very inspired and inspiring image!
big kiss, sis
Love

Hi Rinie, a beautiful composition showing one of my best memories of Turkey: the delicious simits. Good DOF and nice colors. The light is just right: on the simits and the face. Regards, Yvonne

Good morning dear... I´ve just weak up and what do I see between my favourites? One of your photos! It´s courious how in a portrait we can find so many elements giving interest to what we see: The peacefullness mood of the handsome man carrying on the burden, the bread so carefully pilled and finally the light... What a light Rinie! And you you´ve taken advantage of it, just look at the small islands of light on his hand holding the bread... You see, you have to share more photos with us.
Take care.

Oh what a cool sot, Rinie. Those bagels seem to glow golden in he light - you absolutely nailed this one. Very nice work,
Francis
ah! you shouldnt do this to me when i am back to Delhi now, ;((, LOL!
these are the scenes that i just miss my country Rinie.. very nice capture, simitci's posture is quite typical here, they bend their neck a bit when they carry this stuff..
hope you enjoyed Istanbul and Turkey overall, its not that bad after all, is it? ;)
take care of yourself Rinie, and thanks a lot for remembering me from time to time,
Best.

bonjour rinie
you caught a magic light on the man and his simits, a great shot, i really like it .
best regards
didier
Wonderful image, Rinie. The warm light is really spot on, revealing the most important parts of the pic : the simits appear in a warm and delightful glow, contrasting on the coal greys of the backgournd and even his clothes.
I might have missed some of your uploads and probably didn't read the whole of the story, sorry if I'm asking again : how was your exhib in Istanbul?

Amusing shot, and very well caught against the dark background. Looks like he glimpsed you out of the corner of his eye.
Maybe I'd crop the top third.

Excellent documentary picture, with great dark tones and interesting light on the breads.
I'm with Richard, I would crop something (anything) on the top. Beautiful light and mastered like a pro! So, do you have some other snapshots to share with us? ;o)
Hi Rinie,
The light on this man's face is absolutely amazing. It enhances his expression, and his gesture becomes the center in this beautiful shot. I wonder always when I see scenes like that, because the hard job, and by the equilibre of these people. The breads are too really beautiful. Great urban shot, Rinie. It's ever a pleasure to see your shots. Take care, and have a nice sunday.
Angel.

Bonjour Rinie,
très jolie photo de cet homme portant ces petits pains si bien rangés, il ne faut pas trébucher. Un bel éclairage met bien en valeur cette tour.
Une belle composition.
Bon dimanche

This is a beauty, Rinie and reminds me that we should see more of your uploads here. The golden light on his face and wares is outstanding. I can see you were in Izzets company.
Here this would be a game or a world record attempt but for this man it's his everyday life - an impressive balancing act - look at the one just resting top right - Miguel is right about the way the little light pools work on and illuminate him - it brings us into an intimacy withyor subject - the overall lighting and layout is just superb.
Have you heard anything of the intrepid Spanish explorer from his African adventure?

Excellent photo, I don't know how you did it, is it just a stroke of luck that the seller was passing shortly into a ray of light ?
Congratulations, anyway !

Hard job to balance all those bagels.
Thought the burden of carrying things on their head fell on women only. Great to see a guy filling what I thought was a traditional role for a woman.

Hi Rinie, a nice and very opportune image, is interesting to see as the man it takes the breads in balance and perfectly arranged on his head, in framing it shows us of an exact form the workmanship of the tightrope walker.
Congratulations and thanks for the recipe.
Un abrazo.
