Photographer’s Note

four ladies of my Republic of Turkey from Istanbul/Eminönü..

(from left to right): a westernized girl, a possible fundamentalist , a traditional one (but not necessarily too conservative) and, probably, a Republican middle-aged woman..

all different life styles, different perceptions, different ideas from my country..i guess we are just a mixture of everything!. :)

PS. veil is forbidden according to secular republican laws in Turkey. but even if it is against the laws, some minority still insists to wear it.

Aaah Evren, I see the Yeni Mosque in the background and I recognize the railing of the underpass to the Galata bridge ;-)
This a fine capture of the mixture that Istanbul has been for hundreds of years. Very nice.

indeed an interesting selection, and with the towering minarets in the bg a very timely social documentary all neatly arranged and composed with a slight tilt... i like the tiny men popping up here and there in the bg, too bad that's not really representative of turkey (or any country) :-)
