Dolmabahce Palace Gates.
You can see the guards changing shifts during daytime. This was taken at 17:45 so no royal guards can bee seen on this photo.
A self critique: there should have been more sky and less ground. 18mm wasnt enough for this shot i guess.
Dolmabahçe Palace was the first European-style palace in Istanbul.
Built by Sultan Abdülmecid between 1842 and 1853, at a cost of five million Ottoman gold pounds, the equivalent of 35 tons of gold. 14 tons of gold was used only to adorn the interior ceiling of the palace. |
