This is the 38th photograph from my trip to Turkey.
This trekking/holidays lasted 3 weeks and its route includes the most famous and interesting places in Turkey:
Istanbul - Izmir - Selcuk - Efez - Dilek National Park - Pammukale - Fethiye - Saklikent Gorge - Olu Deniz - Antalya - TERMESSOS - Kapadokya - Istanbul.

Antalya and its closest surroundings were our next stop. The city made a really big impression on us. However we couldn`t wait to see one of the best preserved ancient cities of Turkey - Termessos.
This misterious place lies at an altitude of 1050 metres in the Taurus Mountains. The area was declared “Güllük/Termessos National Park and Protection Area” due to the best examples of its regional flora, flowers and maquis vegetation, and unique fauna, primarily wild goat.
I`m really glad that we saw a picture of this place somewhere and we added Termessos to our itinerary immediatelly. I really wanted to photograph it by myself as it is probably the most spectacularly sited ruined city in Turkey.
Unfortunatelly Termessos is not accessible directly by local transport. The most comfortable way to get there is to rent a car. If you`re not afraid of 9 km walk just take a bus like we did. They run between the Antalya bus station and Korkuteli. Drop-off at the road junction to Termessos. The walk takes about 2 hours at a steady pace. It`s not so tiring even with another 20 minutes steep hike up to the ruins.
The main target of all tourist is the theater located on top of the hill. It shines grey under the sun, offers an eagle's eye view of the valley below. The rocky grey of the mountains in the background mixes to the green of the pine forests.
Termessos is a sort of "Machu Picchu" of Turkey, a picturesque tumble-down ruin on the top of a mountain. That`s why it fascinated me so much. I took a lot of photos of this place and chose only the best ones, taken during very late afternon with fantastic golden light. This is 5th one.

Interesting composition. The diagonals of the mountains marries well those of the wall. Well done.
