Photographer’s Note

again the shores of belek, antalya... it was already november and those two kids were trying to decide whether to jump in or not... i wouldn't do that, not after a storm like the one that hit belek... they didn't either...the younger one got really disappointed though...

...i dont know why the horizon is distorted like that (insufficient lens/camera?) or i dont know what to do about it ppwise (insufficient me!)...

Hi Korkut,
Your composition and colour handling is beautiful, nothing to pick on that, just great.
The problem is your lens and a thing that is called barrel distortion. A very common flaw with much wide angle lenses.
You can correct very easy that if you have Photoshop CS2.
The picture it self is good...nice work.

Mr. Bostanci,

We are familiar with the irregular propogation of the beautiful wave and the red shirt boy from one of your previous shots. The boy was then a bonus in that picture, now we have two bonuses (or boni, if bonus is a latin word, hehe). Your lens distortion has resulted in an effect such that we can easily understand that the world is really round.

Again a romantic view with pastel autumn colors and much better in feeling than your deleted photo. I can humbly suggest you to create a travelouge or a theme, which unfortunately I do not know how to. Resulting from that theme, we could be willing to visit our desolate southern coasts during cold times of the year, such rustic views that it offers.

If I were your director, I would surely be willing to send you forth to such conferences, and await slideshows made to colleagues in order to keep up their motivation, as well as ours. Nevertheless, a conference is a conference but what you bring back and share here is much a soothing gift to the soul.

Beautiful photo! Great composition with that wave "invading" in the sand. Beautiful colour of the sand and great positioning of the kids. I don't mind the "distorted" horizon, after all Earth is round.

This is a very beautiful photo with excellent composition! The colors and crispness is superb. The curving horizon is a case of barrel distortion in your lens. It can be remedied in Adobe Photosuop by going to >Filter >Distort. Very well done.

Hi Korkut,

Like this one, the wave in front is cool.
The kids in the distance are a necessary addition to the shot and certainly made the photo.
Indeed the distortion can be correecting in Photoshop, with Filter -> Distort -> Lens Correction. You should be able to do it. Moving the uppermost slider to the right (+) should do it..keep watching the result.
Fine colours here.

Korkut hi,now that i took a short tour at your recent uploads i have to say that are by far more impressive and inspired than the ones you were posting with Greece as a subject,even if this is not a good comment for my country!!This one is really a great composition,good timing on catching the water coming,beautiful colours and a great idea to a include the kids in order to give a size impression.Well done

It's superb, in its simplicity of shapes and colors. The boys are well contrasted with the rest by the color of their clothes.
Sharpness in nothing special, but that isn't important here.

Bu fotoğraf ile birlikte "belek fantasy", "elia", "fake summer" ve "summer gone" çalışmalarına ve benzeri diğerlerine bakınca farklı fotoğraf gözün ile görüntü estetiğine önem veren kompozisyon anlayışının sana has farklı karakter yapısını görmek, fotoğrafa gönül veren biri için bence çok güzel..
Bu fotoğrafı sıradanlıktan dışarı taşıyan tabii ki koyu altın sarısı muhteşem kumsaldan farklı biçimde içeri girmiş dalganın yer aldığı an'ı "karar anı" olarak tercih etmen... Çocuklarda işin ödülü olacak tabii :) ... Tebrikler ve teşekkürler...

Hi Korkut, as i'm a little less convinced by your last 2 posts, of course considering the stunning level that is yours, i'm browsing some of your "old shots", and this one worth so much the seing !
A real treasure, this wave is very strange, the PP is remarkable, and the 2 boys adds a plus to the whole compo.
wave + colors = terrific picture

Great color contrast and very good sharpness.
