Photographer’s Note

izmit (once nicomedia, the city where saint barbara was born and martyred) is my wife's hometown and i was there at the weekend...walked around and took some shots of the old houses mostly (or the stuff being sold at the local bazaar)... this is a detail of an old door... the door of an old greek house...

this one goes for my virtual brother...

Merveilleuses couleurs de cette vieille porte d'une maison Grecque. Le bleu se marie bien avec l'orange et le vert. Excellente clarté d'image et bonne composition.

Pure colour! The colour is so intense and saturated that it really jumps out of the frame at me. Nice texture too, with the close up of the door. Well done!

Harika, splendid ! not only the colours, but also the whole story of that (not so antique) door : generally, I prefer old wooden doors, but this metallic one is really interesting...

What a wonderful eye you display for simple beauty in this image. The colors compliment each other and the wear of this old door has a poem or two hidden behind it.
