Photographer's Note
This is an image from my early years in photography. In the days when you could travel overland from England to Asia. This town was in eastern Turkey close to the Iranian border. Shot using a Leica 3g with 50mm Elmar lens. Batteries in cameras was unheard of in those days. Loaded with Tri-x.rated at 650 ASA. set to f5.6 and about 1/250 sec or there abouts. All the hard work was done in the darkroom which was my parents kitchen until 3 in the morning ! This is the first of a series. The fellow in the picture is carrying bread upon his cap.

This is wonderful work Christopher, and a fascinating glimpse into recent history. 1966; I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the oldest photograph I've seen posted here.
I think your composition is excellent, although I would have preferred it without the man behind our main subject. The range of tones here is wonderful; beautiful black and white work. It's a good reminder of the superior quality that film still delivers, especially in black and white.
Cheers,
Ben

Very expressive...
It's a shame we could see the man behind...

Exceptional picture, insightful note.
The model is amazing. The frame could be a little extended to the right maybe, but it is not critical.
The sky seems to be post-processed to give a blurry feeling, which was instrumental in bringing the model forward.
Just a delight. TFS.
