The Mevlana Museum in Konya, which is worth a visit for the free and very professional whirling Dervish's performance alone, held every Saturday night in the theatre, 1 km from here at left. Rumi, a Persian who lived in Konya from 1207 - 1273 AD, profoundly influenced Islam and was perhaps the greatest Muslim poet and teacher, following the 'Sufi' version of Islam. His ornate tomb is within the bg complex but no photos are allowed.

This is a well composed shot using the flowers in the foreground to create depth and interest. Your low POV works well here placing the building against the sky. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has fine sharpness.

A colourful well framed composition featuring this lively scene. The background architecture with the repeating domes and minarets is nicely juxtaposed by the pretty flowerbed. Top class technical realisation.

wonderfully colourful shot this. Classic Turkish architectural elements here and all captured so attractively and sharply. Looks like a fascinating and worthwhile place to visit.

Hello Chris ,
interesting composition to show us this beautiful mosque . With three layers , the flowers in the FG , the crowd , and the building itself .
Well done .

Hi Chris. A brightly coloured image of this place and considering who is buried there the colours of life are most suitable tribute to the great Rumi (one of the most translated and loved Persian poets in the West). I was allowed to take photos of the tomb- please have a look at my gallery and please read the note I wrote. For me it was a very emotional visit for I love Rumi's poetry and his universality in sentiment. A great man who taught tolerance towards all faiths. Great POV and I particularly like the woman's red headscarf. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Hello dear Chris
I can not make any choice of your captures "this is just good enough or this is topclass" but this one from Konya is really a masterpiece !
With perfect pov and compo. Specially the bright colors of the flowers in foreground and crowd of visitors makes it unique. On top of that all a nice cloudy and photgenic sky as background, crowning the scenery.
TFS and best regards

Good evening Chris,
Choice of POV with the garden in FG, was a very good decision, considering the distance from the domes and minerats.
many people added vivid tones, to the already colorful photo.

What a great idea to include these flower gardens in your f/g. The bright colours set a happy mood and they link so well via the colourful figures, to the domes and the minarets.
The photograph is very well exposed so the details are nice and sharp ... there are no disappointing areas.
My warm regards,

The presence of the people is animating the scene. The distance between the flowers and the museum is giving depth to the composition. The good luminosity is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Wow! You must feel like you were in flower heaven! The architectures are impressive but the flowers are more colorful. Nicely captured with good details. Well done, tfs.

Konya...one of the places we could not visit though we wanted to...
Nice picture of the Museum, with the famous and charateristic green spire, which makes this building stand out...Liked the flower bed in the FG.
Do they allow photography during the Dervish performance?

hello Chris, When I was in turkey with an organized tour15 years ago, it seemed to me real Turkish town, with the women in traditional dresses, and impressive monument, specially this green one which lurks here behind. beautiful capture with all these flowers in fg.
