The snoozing man was oblivious to the chatter of the passing locals and tourists. Having found a shady spot in the extensive gardens that skirt the Sultan Ahmet Mosque, he dreamt of glories past.
I dedicate this photo to my friend Cagla in the hope that she sees it and comes back to TE with more of her inspiring photos.
The purists will ask why I didn't eliminate the pigeon near the top of the minaret. Even it deserves to be- regardless of aesthetics.

Belle prise de vue bien cadrée de la Mosquée Bleue. Beau point de vue et bonne netteté. Bien fait.

always great to see one of these usual but unusual photos of Iconic subjects.
the resting man makes a strong impact, probably with the same impact as he makes on the grass itself :)
I like to see this type of scene, makes my mind wander a bit because I'll be here in May/June 2014

A very pleasing picture.I like the way you have combined several points of interest in the scene.
The person asleep in the shade, people going about their business and the Mosque in the centre.Excellent clarity, and beautiful architecture in the mosque.

I love the title! A fabulous scene and a well known landmark certainly dominates the skyline, but the brilliant warm light is definitely special here! Love the closed frame it fits superbly in between the lush trees at eye level pov and the contrast with clean blue sky is simple great. It's also a delightful reminder of that afternoon siesta as he is making the most of that little moment in slumber land coolly shaded oblivious to the surrounding! just to add a little something extra to this shot. Nicely thought about and done. Great capture. TFS

The Magnificent Blue Mosque For me once it used to be a great monument from the Ottoman age, with its six minarets and blue tiles, but nowadays it is also a wonderful reminder of a great day spent with great friends. This is an interesting point of view to the square and to the mosque, the city looks somehow clean and the sleeping man is one of the typical lazy Istanbul men. Thank you very much dear Klaudio for never giving up pushing me to come back to TE.

I remember this beautiful building but from totally different perspective. Your POV makes photo of the mosque more original - well done for finding another approach. The alley with lamps and trees lead an eye very naturally to the main subject. The people included in the picture make it more real. Colors are well balanced and so is the light.
Thanks for sharing
